Aldana True Handleless Shaker Graphite

Compton, Winchester

The first of many rooms at this absolutely stunning new build situated in this quiet Winchester village. The exterior of the house features classic georgian styling but with cool slick modern interiors.

The heart of this state of the art modern family home features a huge open plan kitchen, dining, living area. The kitchen is based around one tall bespoke run of cabinetry – expertly made and fitted straight upto the ceiling to maximise storage in every way possible. It features a unique double tiered bank of wall cupboards, with a mixture of standard LH/RH hinges and top-lift stays to enable easy access no matter what angle. The bottom tier of wall cupboards finished in the white-wash oak texture with is accented throughout the whole house, with a large centre island with striking mitred waterfall edge worktop.

During the initial kitchen design phase we made a suggestion for the external windows to be re-designed by the architect and we suggested opting for 3 narrow floor to ceiling windows, with the middle window centred from the position of the island, and we are so pleased with the end result. We are always happy to provide suggestions for general architecture and non-kitchen related design, so considering the kitchen layout as early as possible in your project is always advisable so we can make sure the whole space works as best as possible for you.

We also created the adjoining living area media/bar cabinetry with bespoke low level floating wall cabinets (again in the accent bookmatched white-wash oak finish) running into a lovely bespoke bifolding bar cabinet, equiped with internal rebated sensor-based lighting, bespoke mirrored back panels and slick soft close push-to-open handleless bifolding rail system.

We also designed and created the utility room, study, master dressing room and cinema room cabinetry, see below for further details.

Utility Room

Aldana Shaker Light Grey

This enviable sized utility room allowed us to keep the kitchen to a modern minimal style (still with room ample room for the daily essentials!), but this utility really is the engine room of the house. Featuring integrated washer-dryer, built-under freezer, an additional integrated dishwasher (perfect for dumping dishes out of sight when entertaining in the kitchen space), additional sink and tap (near external side access door for country side walks), bespoke coat hanging storage, floor to ceiling tall cupboard storage, hidden larder double doors through to under stairs comms centre and bespoke mega-flow cylinder cabinetry housing.

We kept the skinny shaker cabinetry style the same as the kitchen but chose a timeless shade of pale grey mixed with polished chrome hardware so really emphasises how we can create a completely different look using the same cabinetry door style by dressing up/down with accessories, finishes and textures, for example with modern graphite handleless rails in the kitchen or pairing with classic polished chrome handles in the utility.

With particularly high ceilings, and already an abundance of storage solutions we felt that cramming this room with even more wall storage would be slightly overkill so we opted for a statement open floating shelf (in the same Sand Grey Glazed Halifax Oak as the kitchen) giving a modern minimalist look whilst still achieving maximum storage options.

Study

Aldana True Handleless Shaker Graphite

A simple but effective design, we continued the same theme from the kitchen into this home office space, with a bank of handleless shaker double cupboards, topped with a matching white-wash Sand Grey Glazed Halifax Oak worksurface and matching feature open shelf with traditional corbel brackets painted in graphite.

We particularly love to use of colour matching the walls to the cabinetry!

Walk-in Wardrobe

Bespoke Grey Linen Finish

A potentially tricky space to make the most of, this room is essentially a walk-way from the master bedroom through to the en-suite bathroom and room width was limited but ceiling height excessive so we made the most of this with an assymetrical “His & Her’s” design, so both sides feature the exact same storage but are flipped in layout for another modern feel.

We combined a mixture of tall single hanging, double hanging, tall shelving and some huge 1200mm wide and extra deep solid oak dovetail drawers with the stunning Armac Martin burnished brass Croxford bar handles.

Cinema Room

Bespoke Anthracite Fineline Metallic Finish

Definitely one of the coolest rooms we’ve ever had to design, this cinema room naturally wouldn’t be complete without it’s own fully equipped bar!

Featuring bespoke modern slab cabinetry in a fineline metallic anthracite finish, natural black honed granite worksurface, integrated Caple cabinet wine cooler, integrated Neff under-counter fridge, and Quooker Fusion square boiling tap. Bespoke antique mirrored splashback, and further accents of Sand Grey Glazed Halifax Oak (accented wall cabinet shelf and bespoke wine racks) to tie in with the kitchen, utility and study, plus Armac Martin Croxford bar handles to match the walk-in wardrobe but this time in a matt black finish. For any electrical needs, we fitted a circular single Bora plug socket in the bottom of each of the wine racks to ensure nothing was taken away from antique mirrored splashback.
